So instead of talking about how connecting can change everything with AT&T 5G, we set out to prove it.
After 2.5 years of R&D, we’ve created the first-ever 5G-powered helmet to help Deaf football players communicate in-game. Using 5G and AR, the helmet enables Deaf and hard-of-hearing players to see parts of the game, hearing players hear.

To introduce the world to this groundbreaking innovation, we created a powerful launch film featuring the Gallaudet football team — an all-deaf university that invented the huddle more than a century ago.
To anchor it, we found an epic, iconic track with the perfect message to convey the emotional sentiment: Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel.
Not only is the song about the consequences of being unable to communicate, Paul Simon himself has in recent years dealt with hearing loss and resonated with the endeavor.
